The Commbox devices offer a fast and efficient way of remotely controlling other devices by way of a TCP/IP net and can be used for the surveillance of remote units, such as schools, health centers, hospitals, sports centers, banks, supermarkets, public installations, or any other environment that needs special surveillance.
Basically, this device offers input ports (dry contacts), output ports (relays), and an Ethernet port, which will transmit the data to the surveillance center by way of a local, optical fiber or wireless networks, in addition to private data lines or Internet. However, the number of functionalities that we can imagine with these three types of ports is infinite, such as, for example:
- Monitoring of sensors and activation of lighting combined with IP cameras
- Opening and closing of doors, exhibitor curtains and gates
- Control of pumps, valves, and motors
- Control of devices by way of the web or local networks
- Remote initialization of computers, servers, routers, switches and other informatics equipment
- Integration of I/O and remote connection of digital outputs of any CLP, industrial or residential
- Extension of remote activation buttons and switches
- Industrial control of supervisory programs
- Residential and commercial automation
- Panic button.
The basis of the functioning of the devices lies in the recognition of some event, by way of various types of sensors and buttons. When an event is detected, this information is passed on to the Digifort server, which will carry out a pre-configured action. This action can involve the internal resources of the software, such as the sending of e-mail or SMS messages, devices interconnected to the security net, like positioning movable cameras to a determined point
In the case of some event, the surveillance center will immediately receive a message for the due measures to be taken.

Example 1: Surveillance of schools by way of sensors
In the above diagram we can see how to carry out surveillance of schools by way of sensors and a panic button.
We have a strategically located alarm board, where no person can have access. We connect four presence sensors and a panic button to the board. During the day, if a mishap occurs, the panic button can be activated by an employee, and during the night, the presence sensors carry out motion detection in the entrances of the school.
In both cases, the surveillance center is immediately notified. In Digifort, the board is configured to recognize the panic button event during the entire day and the presence sensors only at night.
Example 2: Flood control, for cities.
In the diagram above we can see how flood control of a river can be administrated.
Level sensors installed on the banks of a river are interconnected to an alarm board, located in a metal box attached to a post near the river. If the river's water level reaches a level sensor, the monitoring center will immediately be informed and the signals will be passed on to firefighters and the civil defense to undertake the immediate isolation of the area, avoiding possible accidents.
Example 3: Surveillance of industrial gates.
In the diagram above we can see how the surveillance of industrial gates can be carried out.
There's a button under the gate guard's desk for opening the gate and a panic button that he can activate when he feels himself threatened by some individual. When the button for opening the gate is pressed, the alarm board activates the electronic lock to open the gate, and when the panic button is pressed, movable cameras will automatically position themselves to record images of the gate and a siren will be set off calling the security personal.
Digifort is responsible for positioning the cameras as well as registering the date and time of the event.
Example 4: Water tank level control.
In the diagram above we can see how the level of water in tanks can be controlled.
A level sensor is installed inside the water tank. When the level of water drops below this sensor, Digifort automatically activates the pump, bringing water into the tank and starts the recording of the camera located near the pump and showing its image on the operators' screen.
